The Link (32ch, MADI, Dante, UAD Vocal Processing, MIDI)

The Link is a versatile playback, UAD vocal processing and MIDI system intended for off stage arena level deployment which can either standalone or pair with another playback system to offer 16 channels of UAD Vocal Processing & MIDI expansion.

The Link on its own can be setup to offer a redundant digital playback MADI / Dante bridge solution using the Dante Virtual Soundcard paired with the UAD Apollo X16-D with anything between the following example configurations -

16 redundant playback x 16 UAD processing channels
24 redundant playback x 8 UAD processing channels
30 redundant playback x 2 UAD processing channels

It can also be used as a FOH or Mons MADI / Dante bridge to access the UAD processing over MADI if required or paired with another system to give 16 mic processing inputs, it is a hugely versatile system.

The Link requires a 1x Thunderbolt 3 / 1x network connection per laptop and 1x power connection for the rack.

The Link can be hired with or without 2x Macbook Pro computers, MIDI controllers and expansion network cabling for stage MIDI use.

Where would I use this system?

The Link is an appropriate playback / vocal processing system for an act or show which requires a larger channel count with digital output formats but still needs a portable solution. It has been used in the past as an autotune rig for a tour with 8 singers for example, it would be suitable for all levels of show where the playback rack lives offstage. This could also be a possible choice for FOH engineers looking to adapt UAD plugins at FOH with 2 choices of digital connections.
